Structural Integration: 12 Series
Do you feel like your movement is restricted in any way?
Can you remember a time when you weren't in pain?
Do you have poor posture?
If you answered, YES, to any of these, you will benefit greatly from the 12 Session Series.
As we get older, the daily stresses we put on our bodies catch up with us. Through poor postural habits, repetitive stress, and injury, our bodies have developed compensation patterns that can lead to postural distortion, chronic pain, and a lack of range of motion. It’s taken you a lifetime to create these patterns of misuse. These 12 Sessions will help bring your body back into balance.
Focusing on where it hurts often goes after the symptom, not the problem. Structural Integration isn't about chasing the pain, it's about realigning the body’s structure to decrease an unnecessary pulling the muscles have created on the bones, and fascia.
Here's a breakdown of the 12 sessions:
Sessions 1-3: Superficial Layer (Preparation and Balancing)
These initial sessions focus on releasing tension in the body's outer (superficial) layers and establishing balance. They set the stage for deeper work in later sessions.
Session 1: Opening the Breath
Focuses on the chest, ribcage, and diaphragm to improve breath capacity and encourage openness.
Emphasis on freeing restrictions around the upper body and enhancing the connection between breathing and movement.
Session 2: Finding Grounding and Balance in the Feet and Lower Legs
Works on the feet, ankles, and lower legs to establish a strong and stable foundation.
Balances the body from the ground up, aiming for even weight distribution and stable alignment.
Session 3: Establishing Lateral Line of the Body
Focuses on the body’s side structures (lateral line), including hips, thighs, and torso.
Aims to improve balance, symmetry, and movement efficiency between left and right sides.
Sessions 4-7: Core Layer (Addressing Deeper Structures)
In these sessions, work begins on deeper layers of fascia to affect core structures that support the body’s posture and alignment.
Session 4: Accessing the Inner Leg and Pelvis
Focuses on the inner leg, pelvis, and adductor muscles.
The goal is to align the leg’s inner structures with the pelvic floor, enhancing grounding and stability.
Session 5: Core Support through the Abdomen and Lower Back
Emphasizes the abdomen and lower back, releasing restrictions that impede core support.
Aims to improve the relationship between the spine, pelvis, and ribs, allowing for smoother movement.
Session 6: Building Support in the Sacrum, Pelvis, and Lower Spine
Works on the sacrum and lower back to integrate the pelvis with the spine.
Helps to align the body’s center and improves the balance between upper and lower body segments.
Session 7: Releasing the Neck, Head, and Shoulders
Focuses on the upper back, neck, and head to create freedom and balance in the upper body.
Supports alignment of the head over the spine, reducing neck tension and improving posture.
Sessions 8-10: Integration (Connecting Upper and Lower Body)
These sessions are focused on integrating the body as a cohesive whole, connecting the upper and lower body for balanced movement.
Session 8: Integrating Lower Body for Full Stability
Revisits and refines the lower body work, reinforcing the connection between the legs and pelvis.
Aims for functional stability and improved alignment in movement.
Session 9: Integrating Upper Body for Full Freedom of Movement
Refines upper body alignment, including the shoulders, arms, and head.
Promotes fluid movement and functional alignment in the torso and upper body.
Session 10: Integrating the Whole Body
A final integration session that aims to align and balance the entire body as a unit.
Helps establish a harmonious relationship between all parts for ease in movement and improved postural support.
Sessions 11-12: Custom Sessions (Optional and Tailored)
These sessions are often customized based on the client’s specific needs or goals. Some practitioners use them to reinforce key areas or further refine alignment.
Session 11: Specific Refinement Based on Client Needs
Addresses any remaining tension or specific goals the client may have, ensuring full-body integration.
Session 12: Final Adjustments and Closure
Serves as a concluding session that provides closure to the process, fine-tuning posture and alignment based on the client’s progress.
Overall, the Structural Integration 12 series is designed to address the body as a whole, systematically releasing tension and reorganizing its structure to create better alignment, balance, and ease of movement. Each session builds upon the last, leading to progressive improvements in posture, flexibility, and overall well-being.
During a session, you're also educated on better movement habits and will learn corrective exercises for optimal, long-lasting results
